Currently....

Duke Liam's thopter has been found, crashed, on Caladan soil. The entire planet is mourning the loss of their brief Duke. Count Thurbin-Atreides had gone to meet with His Majesty, asking that Mintor's daughter, Alyssa, be named Duchess, and he be named Regent until the girl had reached maturity. No news had been heard of on that, but the presence of Sardaukar on both Caladan, and at the Kaitain embassy have been noticed.

His Majesty had ordered a thousand Sardaukar soldiers to Caladan, to help with the investigation into the Siridar's death, and to help in securing the planet. There are also a few hundred stationed at the Embassy, definately changing the air around there. Liam's cousin, Joran Valdemar-Atreides, had stopped on Grumman shortly along his way to Kaitain, to take the mantle of House Chancellor. Not much was brought back from the Grumman trip, hopes of renewing relations are on hold until the House returns to Kaitain.

With the awarding of the Jaroo CHOAM contract, the Lord Brad had made himself quite busy with planetary inspection, and with checking out the mining operations on the planet. He's just recently returned to Kaitain with good news.

With the Count Thurbin-Atreides taking hold of the reins of the House temporarily, he's made sweeping changes. He's made the Lord Darlekan-Atreides Minister of Finance, replacing the now redundant Earl Avolter. The Lady Pollox-Raurolos has been dropped down from Minister of State, to a simple House Diplomat. The Lady Jacinta Callaghan, Bene Gesserit governess of the Lady Alyssa, has been named as a full Bene Gesserit Advisor. It looks like Liam had issues with the way Liam had run things.
